DENARA is a multidisciplinary studio that moves between architecture, design and folklore.
Having come back to Italy after numerous experiences both together and separated, the architects Nicolò Calandrini and Francesco Rambelli founded DENARA studio in 2020, in the city where they were born: Ravenna. A loving feeling for their homeland, Romagna, and, in general, for Italy, has slowly grown throughout the years of training.
DENARA approaches the world of architecture with a GLO-CAL vision in the true sense of the term: all that they do is the result of both constant attention to the main contemporary issues, and a curious knowledge of the local socio-cultural customs of their territory. With the strong belief that provinces represent the present and the future of their own country, the mission they set for themselves is to bring home what they have learned, innovating in the system that they believe today is more subject to a strong cultural crisis.
Manualetto
The name manualetto comes from the composition of the two words manuale (manual) + letto (bed), that summarises the idea at the origin of the project: the will to domesticate (making domestic) the public space is implemented through the execution of the illustrate manual, conceiving a self-buildable space of dimensions 4×4 metres, namely the dimensions of a bedroom.
The repetition of this modulus allows to reconquer public space and abandoned places.
The installation develops like a “manualetto” for the occupation of public space, until it becomes a cultural event open to the whole city of Ravenna, financed by top-class partners and crowdfunding.
Denara and Ravaioli
Ravaioli Legnami is a company funded on what Denara considers the pillars of doing business on the territory: a family atmosphere, a local presence and a global vision. Fully sharing these values in daily life and having tested the quality of their products, Denara believes that involving Ravaioli Legnami in its projects brings a concrete result both in and out of them.
